“Pancasila was developed to solve a real problem: to define the psychosocial boundaries of a new nation. it was meant as a value system.
Pancasila encapsulates three things: anthropological & sociological understanding of nusantara, as well as the world philosophy of the day.
5 silas of Pancasila synthesizes both capitalism and socialism to something uniquely Indonesian: Gotong Royong.”
From Lishia’s mentor Denny Turner’s tweet. The gorgeous Lishia was pursuing to also reflect on her philosophical understanding of Pancasila—a reflection I would share affinity with, hopefully with you too. Here’s the link :

well, personally I would still challenge tiny bit point of Pancasila—in the first pillar, on One God. While I am a believer, I don’t still understand how it can include those who don’t, or those who believe in many. Although maybe it’s just pillars and reality can be detached or be more flexible—how can it be maintained so as not to undermine and exclude some—or I should say a lot!—of people (that of course, exist in our vast archipelago as part of us all). On the other hand, I agree that the first pillar as how it is written now is the true fundamental of other pillars. without which other pillars would crumble, have less shape,if not. As duly noted, I think pillar 2-5 are what the archipelago needs—this is no doubt from my side. Tell me, if one can rephrase pillar one, without changing other pillars, how would it be?
*for me, there’s no other way*….or I’m kinda stuck, other than there should be proper restatement on what does it include in the “One Godness”—which is out of Pancasila context, maybe more on decree level….but you may have some idea, no?
